How to choose your baker.

For my first post I would like to discuss how we are different than other bakers out there and also give you all some pointers on how to choose the right one for you. Cakes By Magda is not for everyone, and that's totally O.K., besides there are only two of us working and we only have so much capacity :) 

What you should know about us:

• We are the best in making European-style cakes and desserts that are less sweet than traditional American desserts. We try to ask our clients whether they like their cake on the sweeter side or not so sweet and we go along with what the client wants. 
• Everything is made from scratch using the best quality ingredients. We do not bake your cake out of the box.
• Everything is made to order - that is correct, nothing is pre-made and everything is fresh.
• We work on fresh produce and don't add any preservatives, therefore our sweets are not forever fresh like the ones from a local supermarket 
• We put a lot of effort in making sure our cakes and desserts are both beautiful and delicious 
• We are a premium service that make exceptional sweets 
• Our target client is one that LOVES good quality desserts

What you should know before choosing your baker and how to compare them:

• First and foremost, know your budget. It's okay to tell us that we are too expensive, but definitely not ok to ask for discounts. We simply don't lower our prices because we will not lower our quality of work. We respect your decision and understand that you are just not our target client, it happens. It's like with any relationship, not everyone will be a good fit with each other. 
• Do the bakers you are talking to have similar style/aesthetic as far as the look of the cake and desserts?
• Do they deliver or not? That's an important one, the day of the party is usually hectic, isn't it nice if one thing you don't have to worry about is the deliver of the cake? 
• Do you like the overall interaction with the baker? It's important to have mutual trust and respect.
